Learn about the Tudor Games Passing Sticks Set
- 03/08/2023
Are you an Electric Football fan looking for a unique passing system? Look no further than the Tudor Games Passing Sticks Set. This innovative method offers a different experience from using the TTQB when executing the passing game in Electric Football. One of the main distinctions you'll notice when using the passing stick method is the ability of the defense to react to the ball while "in the air." Interceptions and pass interference are also noticeably different, adding a new level of excitement and challenge to your games. While the challenge of hitting the receiver with the TTQB thrown football is not part of this method, accurately reading defenses, avoiding interceptions, and completing passes are no less challenging with "the sticks" as you'll soon see. So why should you try the Tudor Games Passing Sticks Set? With its unique gameplay, it offers a measured perspective on Electric Football passing that will keep you engaged and entertained. Plus, it's a great way to switch things up and challenge yourself to improve your skills on the field. So, how does it work?
The set comes with four Passing Sticks and a Magnetic Ball Marker (MBM). The longest stick in the set is the clear "Measuring Stick" which is used to measure the distance between the quarterback and the intended receiver for a pass. The measuring stick is divided into two halves, with the number 1 marking the "Short Pass" zone and the number 2 marking the "Medium Pass" zone. The MBM is a round brown marker with a magnetic bottom that is used to denote the pass target point and minimize its movement on metal boards.
The set also includes three other Passing Sticks:
"The Red 3 Stick" which is used for "Long Pass" throws and is six base lengths long;
"The White 2 Stick" or which is used for "Medium Pass" throws and is four base lengths long;
and "The Blue 1 Stick" or which is used for "Short Pass" throws and is two base lengths long.
Play is started by pressing the PlayAction™ Remote. If an unblocked eligible receiver breaks open before a defender touches the quarterback, release the power button to stop the play, call "PASS," and identify the intended receiver. To determine the length of the pass, take the Clear Measuring Stick and hold it over the field so that the end of the "Number 1" side is above the helmet of the quarterback figure and the centerline passes over the intended receiver's helmet.
If the receiver is in Zone 1, this is a "Short Pass."
If the receiver is in Zone 2, this is a "Medium Pass."
If the receiver is beyond the measuring stick, this is a "Long Pass."
Once the measurement is complete and the length of the pass is determined, the intended receiver and any other unblocked offensive player may be pivoted. Then, the appropriate color stick is placed on the field so that one end is touching the front base edge of the intended receiver. The Magnetic Ball Marker is also placed on the field at the other end of the stick being used to represent the spot where the quarterback is throwing the ball. If the intended receiver is the first player to contact the MBM, the pass is completed and the intended reciever can make a run after the catch! A pass can fall incomplete in two ways: if the Intended Receiver has moved past or turned away from the MBM and no player touches the MBM prior to these events, or if any player OTHER than the Intended Receiver touches the MBM and is in contact with an opposing player. If any unblocked defensive player is the first player to reach the MBM prior to the ball falling incomplete, that player has intercepted the pass.
